 The new Reader is designed to identify the transponder standard, ISO 14443 A (Mifare ®). It is equipped with a numeric keypad, to enter a pin code for verification. The communication with a host system follows the RS.232 standard. It is equipped with a D-Type connector. The reader has a built in antenna. The maximum reading distance is 40 mm with ISO 14443 A transponders. The device features a built in anticollision. The reader has two LEDs and an internal beeper to indicate the current process or the system operation.
The reader supports the ISO 14443 encryption and security features found in Philips Semiconductors Mifare ® transponders. The security feature prevent an unauthoruized access to the data transfer between the reader and the tag, particularly critical in payment and ticketing applications.
