The new Reader is designed for the SIEDLE Vario System BM 611 to identify both transponder standards, ISO 14443 (Proximity Card) and ISO 15693 (Vicinity Card). The communication with a host system follows the RS.232 or RS.485 standard. The reader has a built in antenna. The maximum reading distance is 90 mm with ISO 15693 transponders, depending on the size of the Transponder antenna. The device features a built in anticollision an can autodetect transponders from a variety of manufacturers such as I.Code.SL1 and I:Code SL2 from Philips Semicondictors, Tag-it HFI from Texas Instruments, my-d from Infineon, ST/LR512 from ST Microelectronics. The reader can handle several transponders simultaneously.
The reader supports the ISO 14443 encryption and security features found in Philips Semiconductors Mifare ® transponders as well as Infineon´s my-d transponders. Additionally, Mifare ® UltraLight and ST´s SR176 transponders are supported. The security features prevent an unauthoruized access to the data transfer between the reader and the tag, particularly critical in payment and ticketing applications. The reader has a maximum read range of 40 mm with ISO 14443 tags.
