Dusseldorf based Rhein Fire, a leading, European, American Football team use Zebra Card Printers to produce thousands of annual club passes for fans. The new printers, supplied by cards & more, a plastic card manufacturer, and long-standing Zebra Card Printer reseller provided the club with the state-of-the-art ticketing system.

Solution
Rhein Fire is one of five teams in the European offshoot of the National Football League (NFL) in the US. As the number of fans increase every year the club recognized the need to update there existing solution for producing annual passes and season tickets. They also needed something that would provide higher security and would be more durable to last throughout the year. They chose CCD as a preferred supplier, as the club had never used printers previously and wanted to work with a company who had a lot of experience and could apply the printer solution to their requirements.
There was a delay in making the final decision as the printers needed to be used by the football team as well as the ‘Accreditation Department’ who deal with security, and both had different needs. However, with the football season fast approaching there was an urgent need for the club to start their annual pass marketing and CCD came to the rescue with a Zebra Card Printer 330i™, which enabled the club to produce preprinted cards and lanyards before the final decision was made. After overcoming a minor network administration problem the printer was up, running, and printing passes for eager football fans.
On match days, when there are thousands of people watching a game the accreditation department need to be able to see quickly, often form a distance, that right people are entering certain secure areas. The CCD XXL printer, based on the Zebra Card Printer P310, but adapted to suit CCD’s customers’ needs solves the problem. The accreditation department is able to print extra large colour coded cards that contain a photograph, which enables them to check security from a distance. Additional security features could also be introduced at a later stage such as holograms to further tighten up security. The printer was chosen as it is specially designed for accreditation purposes and cannot be supplied by any other manufacturer.
“Most of our season ticket holders ordered their tickets as plastic cards and every single ticket captivates with its clear and unsoiled print image. A proper printed image is very important for us because we do not only print the description of block, row, and seat on the card, but also a bar code for the electronic admission control.
Obviously the accurate printing was successful because our first game day was completely trouble free, especially in terms of the admission control. Not only we, but also our fans are enthusiastic about the plastic cards printed with the Zebra printer, because they not only look good but are also very practicable and manageable,” commented Rhein Fire’s Ticket Manager.
