At this year´s summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Forum (APEC) in Sydney, CCD supplied the systems for the visitor IDs: A total of 11 XXL printers as well as 44.000 XXL cards with security hologram and RFID-Chip provided the grounds for secure access controls.
The CCD-developed XXL printers allow to provide visitors of large scale events with convenient, oversized credentials very quickly. These credentials are worn by means of a lanyard and can easily be identified even from a distance because of their size.
The total cost for the security at this event in Australia was around 100 million Euros. Large parts of downtown Sidney were protected with a metallic fence. For security reasons, it was illegal for tourists to even take a photograph of this fence.
