Cards Asia Review from Terrapinn

SINGAPORE, 9 May 2007 – Terrapinn Pte Ltd, the Organiser of the 12th annual Cards Asia exhibition and conference, recently wrapped up yet another successful event in Singapore on 27 April. This year’s theme on investing in a smart future has reaped great returns for all participants of the event.

More than 5,200 pre-qualified trade attendees from over 62 countries attended Asia’s largest smart card and payment event from 25-27 April at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Cards Asia, held in conjunction with 5th annual RFID World Asia and the newly launched Retail Solutions World Asia this year, haas proven to be a successful combination. The co-located events, coupled with the power-packed conferences drew a CxO level delegate group, who were seriously looking to evaluate their cards and payments strategies during the event.

The expo floor hosted more than 250 world class exhibiting companies and over 6,700 square meters of exhibit space, an increase of 36.5% from 2006.

“In the last few years our customers have expressed, on numerous occasions, their challenges in increasing their sales pipeline in the Asian market, especially so with the fast paced business environment we are facing currently. More and more, they are looking at investing time and effort in building lasting relationships with very targeted group of prospects, rather than meeting large numbers of unqualified visitors. Cards Asia, along with our other events is one such platform that ensures qualified visitors that our exhibitors want to meet.” said Terrapinn Pte Ltd’s Chief Executive, Richard Ireland. “Hearing the feedback of our happy exhibitors and sponsors, our effort seems to have paid off as the 3-day event was packed with learning and networking opportunities. Businesses were discussed, deals were signed, friends and competitors alike met at this annual industry gathering.”

“Investing in the smart future is truly something close to our heart, for this is what Cards Asia has been doing and will continue to do so, moving forward. The last 12 years of investment into growing Cards Asia have seen returns for our customer. Terrapinn is pleased and excited about the success of the show and looks forward to even greater success in 2008 with an exciting line up of educational programs and profiles” said Ireland. Cards Asia and RFID World Asia 2008 will be he held from 9 - 11 April 2008 at Suntec Singapore.

Echoing the sentiments of Mr Ireland is Gautam Paul, Director of Sales for Collis Asia who felt that the event had “Excellent quality of visitors……..we met many senior decision maker just being here”.

Another participant, Jochen Scheil, Sales Director of Koera Packmat couldn’t agree more “We were happy to be part of Cards Asia 2007. It was the perfect venue to launch our new product in our key market of Southeast Asia. The response we got was overwhelming”

According to Fergus Claffey lead consultant of Amricon a leading smart technology application company based in the UAE, one of our first time event sponsors felt the event was “Very good for targeting our solutions at our desired market area of specialisation”

“It was a good show. We met lots of potential customers, we’ll be back! ,” enthused Sipix Tech Inc’s Daphne Hsu

Alan Cook, marketing manager of Dupont Teijin Film commented “The exhibition provide us with new, high quality opportunity in this dynamic region, we are looking forward to turning this into sales”

Many of Cards Asia conference attendees too were pleased with the steep learning curve they got from attending the senior level conference. Philip Law, Senior Market Representative of China Unionpay based in Singapore commented “we gained some significant insights from the topics. In fact, right after one of the presentations, I took the idea straight to my partners and we are now in the midst of implementing it.”

Angelo Dennis Matutins, First Vice President, UnionBank of the Philippines had this to say about the conference “Overall the conference was very good. It would definitely help me manage my cards and payments objectives now and future. Looking forward to the next conference.”

“Overall a GREAT show” stated Mr. Neimann from Contrinex!
